Residential Painting for Albuquerque Homes, Inside and Out

We are local house painters. Since 2006 our family-owned company has painted homes across Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, and every estimate is written for your home after we see it in person.

High-desert sun, dry air and monsoon rain are hard on paint, inside and out. Every job starts with the prep that holds up here: repairs, caulk, the right primer and finishes picked for each surface.

Painting Every Style of Albuquerque Home

The metro has its own kinds of houses, and each one asks something different from a paint job. These are the styles we see most.

  • Pueblo Revival home with rounded adobe brown stucco parapets and dark wood vigas

    Across the metro

    Pueblo Revival

Rounded parapets, vigas and deep window openings. The look most people picture when they think of an Albuquerque home.

What it needs: Breathable masonry paint on the stucco, careful work around vigas and canales, and parapet tops sealed against monsoon rain.

  • Territorial style home with brick coping on the parapet, cream stucco and white window trim

    North Valley and older areas

    Territorial

Flat roofs with brick coping, painted wood window trim and covered portals, often on some of the older homes in town.

What it needs: Wood trim scraped, primed and repainted, and lead-safe work practices when the home was built before 1978.

  • Single-story ranch house with gray stucco, white fascia and the Sandia Mountains close behind

    Northeast Heights

    Ranch Homes

Single-story homes with wide eaves, wood fascia and carports, many of them built in the decades after the war.

What it needs: Sun-worn fascia and eaves repaired and primed, and stucco cracks filled before the new color goes on.

  • Contemporary Southwestern home with warm white and charcoal brown stucco and black window frames

    Westside and Rio Rancho

    Newer Stucco Homes

Two-story and contemporary stucco homes with large walls, big garage doors and, often, HOA color rules.

What it needs: Tall walls reached safely, HOA approved colors, and garage doors and trim in a matching durable finish.

Prep, step by step

How Your House Painting Project Works

Six steps from the first visit to the final walkthrough, so you know what happens and when before any work begins.

  1. Clipboard, tape measure and a fan deck of color chips on a stucco garden wall
    Step01

    Look at your home

We walk the rooms and walls you want painted, measure, and note repairs and surfaces.

Why it matters: An accurate price starts with seeing the house, not guessing from a photo.

  2. Three large sand, greige and warm white paint samples on a stucco wall beside a window
    Step02

    Colors & HOA

We help you pick colors, test large samples and gather what your HOA needs.

Why it matters: Colors look different in our bright light than on a small chip.

  3. Front entry covered with drop cloths, the door hardware and porch light wrapped in plastic and tape
    Step03

    Protect everything

Floors, furniture, plants, walkways, doors and fixtures are covered before we start.

Why it matters: Your home and yard should look the same when we leave, minus the old paint.

  4. Gloved hand filling a crack in a stucco wall with patching compound
    Step04

    Repair & prime

Cracks, holes and gaps are filled and caulked, and patches and bare spots get primer.

Why it matters: Paint shows every flaw underneath it. Repairs are what make it last.

  5. Roller on a pole rolling fresh sand colored paint onto a stucco wall
    Step05

    Paint

Finish coats go on in the order we planned, with clean lines at trim and edges.

Why it matters: A set order keeps the work moving and keeps rooms out of use for less time.

  6. Crisp white window trim against tan stucco with a roll of tape and a brush on the sill
    Step06

    Walk through it

We look over the finished work with you and touch up anything you point out.

Why it matters: You see the details up close before we call the job done.

Residential Painting FAQs

Straight answers to what Albuquerque homeowners ask us most.

Still have a question?

Ask it in the estimate form and we will answer, even if you are not ready for an estimate.

Ask Us

How much does it cost to paint a house in Albuquerque?

It depends on the size of the home, whether we paint inside, outside or both, the condition of the walls and stucco, and how much trim is included. A single room costs far less than a whole house. Your free, written estimate breaks the price out line by line, so you can choose what to include.

Are you local house painters?

Yes. All New Painting is a family-owned company that has painted homes in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho since 2006, with more than 1,000 projects completed. If you are searching for house painters near you anywhere in the metro, we come out, look at your home and write your estimate ourselves.

Do you paint both the inside and the outside of homes?

Yes. We paint interiors, including walls, ceilings, trim, doors and cabinets, and exteriors, including stucco, wood trim, fascia, doors, garage doors and iron. Many homeowners do one now and the other later, and some do both at once so the colors inside and out work together.

How long does it take to paint a house?

A single room is often done in a day. A full exterior on a typical single-story Albuquerque home usually takes several working days, and a whole interior takes about the same, depending on size, repairs and color changes. Your estimate includes a schedule with a start and finish date.

Do you help with HOA color approvals?

Yes. Many Albuquerque and Rio Rancho neighborhoods have HOA color rules. We can help you find your approved palette, put large samples on your wall and give you the color names and finishes your HOA asks for, so the approval is settled before any paint goes on.

Do you paint homes that are getting ready to sell?

Yes. Fresh, neutral paint is one of the simplest ways to get a home ready for the market. We paint empty and furnished homes, plan the work around your listing date, and focus on what buyers notice first, like the living areas, kitchen, trim and front entry.

Do you paint new homes and additions?

Yes. We paint new construction homes, additions and remodels across Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, for builders and homeowners. New drywall gets a primer made for fresh walls, new stucco gets the right masonry primer when it needs one, and we schedule the work around your builder and the other trades.

My home was built before 1978. Does that matter?

It can. Older layers of paint on homes built before 1978 may contain lead, and scraping or sanding them can create dust. Federal EPA rules require painting contractors to follow lead-safe work practices on those homes. Tell us the year your home was built when you ask for an estimate, and we will explain what it means.

Can we stay home while you paint?

Yes, most families do. Outside, we work around your schedule and keep doors and walkways clear. Inside, we paint one area at a time, keep rooms ventilated and can use low-VOC paint on request. Keep kids and pets away from wet paint until it is dry to the touch.

Do you paint homes in Rio Rancho and the rest of the metro?

Yes. Our house painters work in Rio Rancho, Corrales and across the Albuquerque metro, from the Northeast Heights and Four Hills to the North Valley and the Westside. Every home gets the same careful prep, the same protection and the same free written estimate, wherever it is.

Meet the Owner

Edik started All New Painting in 2006 with one standard: paint every home as if it were his own. Twenty years later it is still a family business, built on that same standard.

We paint interiors and exteriors, stucco, cabinets and commercial spaces, and we handle the drywall repair and prep that make paint last in the high desert.

More than 1,000 projects later, the goal has not changed: careful prep, clean lines and a home you are proud to come back to.
