For builders and homeowners
New Construction Interior and Exterior Painting
New walls are not ready for paint the way old walls are. Fresh drywall, new joint compound and new stucco all need the right primer first, or the seams and patches show through the finish for years.
We paint new homes, additions and remodels across Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, and we plan each visit around your builder and the other trades, from the first coat of primer to the last touch-up.

New Home Painting for Builders and Homeowners
Most new construction calls come from one of two people. Both get a written price and a schedule, but what each one needs from a painter is different.
Builders
Builders & General Contractors
A painting crew that shows up when your schedule says, leaves a clean house for the next trade and comes back for the punch list, so the home is ready for the final walk.
Help choosing colors and sheens for every room, HOA approvals for the outside, and a painter who works with your builder so the colors you picked are the colors you move in to.
What Our New Construction Painting Service Includes
From bare drywall to the final touch-up, every new construction painting project gets the right primer, a set order of work and a written plan.

Interior Walls & Ceilings
New construction interior painting starts with a primer made for new drywall, then the finish coats in the colors and sheens on your plans. Ceilings get a flat finish that hides small flaws, and walls get a finish that wipes clean.
New construction exterior painting covers fascia, trim, doors, garage doors, railings and any stucco the plans call for. New stucco needs time to cure before paint, so we plan the outside around that and the weather.
New baseboards, casings, interior doors and stair rails get caulked, filled and finished in a durable semi-gloss. Paint-grade cabinets and built-ins can be finished on site in the color on your plans.
An empty new house is the best time to spray. Windows, floors and openings are masked, primer and finish go on evenly, and walls are often back-rolled for a uniform texture. Where overspray would be a risk, we roll and brush.
A new room or remodel should look like it was always part of the house. We prime the new drywall, match the color and sheen of your existing rooms, and protect the parts of the home you are still living in.
Many new neighborhoods in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho have HOA color rules. We help you pick colors that hold up in our bright light, test large samples and put every color and sheen on one list before painting begins.
Painting a new home is not one visit. It happens in stages between the other trades, and we plan each one with your builder.

Spray or Roll: How We Paint New Construction
Both methods have a place in a new home. Most projects use both, and we choose room by room based on what is installed and what is not.
Finished spaces
Rolled & Brushed
Best for: Rooms with flooring, cabinets or fixtures already in, and touch-ups
No overspray, so less masking
Even texture on walls
Easy to match later for touch-ups
Slower on large, empty homes with tall walls and ceilings.
VS
VS
Empty new homes
Sprayed & Back-Rolled
Best for: Bare drywall before flooring, cabinets and trim go in
Fast, even primer and finish coats
Reaches tall walls and vaulted ceilings
Back-rolling evens out the texture
Needs full masking of windows, floors and openings first.
We will tell you in your estimate which rooms we plan to spray and which we plan to roll, so your builder knows what needs to be installed before each visit.
Prep, step by step
How We Paint a New Home, Step by Step
Six steps from the first walkthrough to the punch list, so you and your builder know what happens and when.
Step01
Walk the build
We walk the house or review the plans, measure and note colors, sheens and surfaces.
Why it matters: An accurate price starts with the plans and the house, not a guess.
Step02
Mask & protect
Windows, floors, openings and anything already installed are covered and taped.
Why it matters: Overspray and drips land on paper and plastic, not on new finishes.
Step03
Prime new drywall
Every new wall and ceiling gets a primer made for fresh drywall and joint compound.
Why it matters: Without primer, seams and screw spots show through as dull stripes.
Step04
Finish coats
Ceilings, then walls, in the colors and sheens on your color list.
Why it matters: A set order keeps lines clean and keeps the schedule on track.
Step05
Trim & doors
Trim is caulked and filled, then doors, casings and baseboards get semi-gloss.
Why it matters: Caulked joints stay closed and lines stay crisp as the house settles.
Step06
Punch list
After the last trades, we walk the house and touch up every marked spot.
Why it matters: Every build leaves scuffs. The punch list is how the home ends up perfect.

Building a new home or adding on?
Send us your plans or walk the build with us, and we will give you a free, written estimate with a schedule.
New construction painting prices depend on the size of the home, the ceiling heights, how many colors and sheens the plans call for, the amount of trim and doors, and whether the exterior is part of the job.
We price each home from the plans or a walkthrough of the build, and that estimate is free.
Do you paint new construction homes in Albuquerque?
Yes. We paint new construction homes, additions and remodels across Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, inside and out. We work for builders, general contractors and homeowners building a custom home, and every project gets the same prep, a written price and a schedule that fits the rest of the build.
Why does new drywall need a primer?
New drywall has two surfaces: the paper face and the joint compound over the seams and screws. They soak up paint differently, so without a primer the seams can show through as dull stripes. A primer made for new drywall evens the surface out, so the finish coats look smooth and uniform.
Do you spray or roll new construction?
Both. Empty new homes are often sprayed, because a sprayer covers walls, ceilings and trim evenly and quickly before flooring and fixtures go in. We often back-roll sprayed walls for an even texture, and we roll or brush wherever overspray would be a problem. We will tell you which we plan to use.
When should the painters come in during a build?
Usually right after the drywall is finished and sanded, before cabinets, flooring and trim are installed, for primer and the first coats. We come back after the other trades for trim, doors and final coats, then again at the end for the punch list. We plan those visits with your builder.
Do you handle the punch list and touch-ups?
Yes. After flooring, fixtures, counters and appliances go in, there are always scuffs and dings on fresh paint. We come back near the end of the build, walk the house with you or your builder, and touch up every marked spot with the same paint, so the home is ready for its final walk.
Do you paint the exterior of new homes?
Yes. On new stucco homes we paint fascia, trim, doors, garage doors, railings and any stucco that the plans call for, with a primer made for fresh masonry when it needs one. New cement stucco needs time to cure before paint, so we plan the exterior around that and the weather.
Can you work with our HOA colors?
Yes. Many new neighborhoods in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho have HOA color rules for stucco, trim and garage doors. We can help you find the approved palette, put large samples on the wall and give you the color names your HOA asks for, so the approval is done before any paint goes on.
Do you work for builders and general contractors?
Yes. We work as the painting crew for builders and general contractors on new homes, additions and remodels. You get a written price for each project, a crew that shows up when the schedule says, clean work areas for the next trade, and a punch list visit before the house is handed over.
How much does new construction painting cost?
It depends on the size of the home, the ceiling heights, how many colors and sheens the plans call for, how much trim and how many doors there are, and whether the exterior is included. Because every plan is different, we price each home from the plans or a walkthrough, in a free written estimate.
Do you paint additions and remodels too?
Yes. Additions and remodels are new construction inside an older home. New drywall gets the right primer, and we match the color and sheen of the existing rooms so the new space blends in. We protect the parts of the home you are still living in and keep the work areas clean.
New Construction Painting Across the Albuquerque Metro
We paint new homes, additions and remodels in every part of Albuquerque, from the Westside and the Northeast Heights to the North Valley and the Volcano Cliffs area, and in Rio Rancho, Corrales and the other communities around the metro.
Edik started All New Painting in 2006 with one standard: paint every home as if it were his own. Twenty years later it is still a family business, built on that same standard.
We paint interiors and exteriors, stucco, cabinets and commercial spaces, and we handle the drywall repair and prep that make paint last in the high desert.
More than 1,000 projects later, the goal has not changed: careful prep, clean lines and a home you are proud to come back to.
